So far, this year a total of 844 horses have left their mother country for new homes in Europe and America.....

This morning a total of 76 horses left. Considering how many horses have been exported now, compared to the last few years the total number of exported horses will be lower this year. The number of exported horses as listed below  have been attained from the Icelandic Farmers Association and can be viewed here below:

Year - Number

2009 - 1588
2008 – 1776
2007 – 1497

This year, only 35% of the horses, a total of 292 been transported to Germany, a total of 117 have been transported to Denmark and 102 horses have been transported to Sweden.
