The Scandinavian tournament in horse sports will be held in Ypäjä, Finland during August 4-8 next. At the Scandinavian tournament the national teams of all the Scandinavian countries will get together and compete in a tough and exciting competition. Often, new competition horses and new riders will appear using the opportunity to compete there as a test for the coming world championship. So it could be said that future stars often appear at the Scandinavian tournaments first.
The tournament area in Ypäjä, Finnlandi is big and spacious. This is where one of the largest riding schools in Europe is operated and the tournament area by the school is used for shows and competition of many different horse breeds. The facilities for the competitors and guests are exemplary and the area is surrounded with beautiful nature.
The last time a Scandinavian horse tournament was held at this same location in Finland was in 2002 and was a great success. The Finish people are very hospitable and entertaining people who have great ambition for the preparation and hosting of the tournament, as they do not often have the opportunity to host a multi national tournament.
The preparation of Icelandic national team going to the tournament on behalf of Iceland is going to be completed shortly and at an interview with Eiðfaxi, Páll Bragi Hólmarsson the director of the national team told us that the final riders for the team would be introduced around the 15th of this month.
