Eiðfaxi received the news that Claus Becker, a German horse man died earlier this week. He was in his seventies.....
Claus was one of the pioneers importing Icelandic horses to Germany, and he was also one of Gunnar Bjarnason´s first collaborators of in this field of work. He operated the great horse farm “Grenzlandhof” in the province of Rhine where he was breeding Icelandic horses.
Claus was the founder and inventor behind the “Saga Reitschule” which is a chain of riding schools featuring Icelandic horses all over Germany.
Claus was a great friend of Iceland and had many friends here. He came here whenever he had the opportunity and had scheduled such a visit to Iceland next month, October. But he died from the illness he had been fighting for the past few years.
Eiðfaxi would like to send their condolences to the family and friends of Claus Becker.
